Fall 2024 Trout Stocking
A group of members were present to watch Darlene add lots of healthy rainbow trout, some up to 5 lbs, to the pond. A bonus golden trout managed to sneak himself onto her truck but you will be forgiven for thinking he is one of our resident sunfish when you catch a glimpse of him.
More photos can be found on the club website under the Gallery tab.
Remember - No fishing until Opening Day morning!
Fall 2024 Opening Day is Saturday 26th October
Opening Day will take place this Saturday, 26th October. The leaves are falling so lets hope for a little breeze to keep the water as open as possible. The running order for this years gall opener will be slightly different with the hope that more members can join us for breakfast and some great fall fishing. The order of the day is as follows,
7:00am - Coffee in the clubhouse
7:30am - Opening Bell / First Cast
($2 buy-in for the first fish pool)
9:00 - 10:00am - Breakfast served in clubhouse
Breakfast sandwich or breakfast plate, home fries, pancakes and coffee/OJ ($5)
Opening Day Reminders
Please park as close to the parking lot tree line as possible and avoid leaving big gaps between vehicles. This will make for more parking space as well as more backcasting room.
All flies being fished must be barbless or have the hooks crushed down.
Fish should be landed with a net and released as quickly as possible. If you are taking photos please do so after unhooking, with the fish in the net and a wet hand under the fish to support it. (see picture above). There are some spare nets available on the clubhouse porch.
Fall Opening Day is a great time to drop off your 2025 dues ($250)
ANNOUNCEMENT - November Fly Tying
The November Fly Tying evening has been rescheduled to Tuesday 12th November. The original date (11/5, first Tuesday of the month) clashes with the General Election so it has been decided to move fly tying forward by one week.
Fly materials and instructions will be posted next week on the Fly Tying page of the club website.
